About us

Where timeless literature meets everyday style

Our Opening Chapter

Quill and Folly was born of a love of classic literature and well-thumbed volumes of Austen, Brontë, Poe, and Wodehouse. Our founder, Alice — part designer, part devoted literary girl — sketched her first “Pemberley Society” crest between teacup rings on a chapter-marked page of Pride & Prejudice. Friends asked for T-shirts, strangers asked where they could buy them, and a literary-lifestyle brand quietly took its first breath.

What We Create

Think of us as a wandering bookshop that slipped into the fashion department:

  • Soft cotton tees & hoodies with varsity-style emblems for fictional estates, secret societies, cabaret cats, and very much more

  • Archival art prints featuring originals, redrawn Belle-Époque posters, and public-domain first-edition engravings.

  • Mugs, totes & stationery that bring a whisper of classic prose to desks, dorm rooms, and reading nooks.

Every design is redrawn pixel-by-pixel in our studio for crisp lines and colour fidelity worthy of a fine press.

Printed Just for You — and the Planet

Each piece is produced only after you order, minimising waste and eliminating unsold stock. We partner with ethical fulfilment teams who use OEKO-TEX® inks and energy-efficient presses. Packaging is 90 % recycled or recyclable, because sustainability, like good grammar, is never optional.

Our Values

  1. Storytelling Over Trends – We’d rather quote Elizabeth Bennet than chase micro-seasons.

  2. Craft, Not Clip-Art – Original artwork only; no fast-fashion rip-offs.

  3. Comfort Counts – If it isn’t soft enough for a marathon reading session, it doesn’t leave the studio.

“I declare after all, there is no enjoyment like reading… and wearing a jolly good hoodie while you do so.”
